Sabores del Sur ( " Flavors from the South " ) is the Bay Area's premier South American catering company. Chef-owned and operated, Sabores del Sur uses only the freshest ingredients. We emphasize organic, free trade and locally grown products. We take great pride in ensuring each dish is "made with love"—a philosophy Chef Guisell H. Osorio inherited while cooking with her grandmother during her childhood in Chile. Our signature products, Empanadas and Alfajores, are a favorite of all our clients, especially those craving an authentic taste from South America. They are bursting with flavor while offering the familiar warmth of South American cuisine. Chef Guisell Osorio Sabores del Sur's chef Guisell Osorio was born in Santiago de Chile. After moving to the Bay Area she realized the only way to eat her favorite South American dishes was to learn to cook: “In order to eat what I craved I had to make everything myself. I wanted empanadas and alfajores and I couldn’t find anything like what we ate at home.” Osorio asked for her grandmother’s recipes and quickly realized she had a hidden talent and love for cooking. She decided to open her own food and catering company and immediately began her culinary and business training. She started Sabores del Sur in San Francisco in 2002 and it has quickly become the Bay Area’s favorite South American Catering company. Using the diverse flavors from her native land, Osorio focuses on customer satisfaction and creates a unique gastronomic experience with every dish. In 2008, Osorio was recognized by the Women’s Initiative for Self Employment as the Giving Graduate of the year for her success in the profession and her work serving the community. |
